Women's Health Issues Most Concerned With

The health issues that most concerns me regarding the women in our society is obesity, cancer and heart disease. My mother, maternal grandmother, and aunts all struggle with high cholesterol issues and are constantly seeking ways to reduce their cholesterol intake and ways to improve their diet.

When interviewing a black female friend of mine, I found that obesity was her concern as well. Her family has had many generations which struggle with this issue and it's obviously being passed on to the children of this generation as well. High fatty diets and sedentary lifestyles contribute to their obesity problem and they are trying to change some of these things to improve and prolong their lives. My cousin's wife, Sonja, a native of Mexico, stated that heart disease, is what concerns her the most. Her family suffers with a history of high cholesterol and obesity and she fears that they cannot avoid it due to some ways of their culture concerning the foods that they eat.

Ways in which I feel we can control some of our fears relating to obesity and high cholesterol is by increasing our daily activities by implementing an exercise program as well as improving our diet. By changing our fatty diets which originate from a very busy, stressful lifestyle, to a diet filled with fresh fruits and vegetables, we can hopefully increase our years of living and be a great example to our children of ways to protect and nourish their health.

  1. When it comes to cholesterol, obesity, and heart disease, I agree that there are preventative measures that one can take. These health problems are often interlinked within one another, which can really put one's health at risk. However, hormonal changes can also cause many of these problems. This means that sometimes health issues such as obesity are uncontrolable.Although overweight people are often seen as people who overconsume food and lack excercise, this is not necessarily so. There are cases in which obese individuals eat a normal intake. Still, they find themselves going through an enormous weight gain. Yes, excercise may be one of the contributing factors, but there may be many other cntributors. As these health issues continue to increase, hopefully there will be a healthy and natural cure that comes along the way!
